We truly believe at our organization that the way we select and prepare young people for EVS is what distinguishes us from other entities.
We believe that finding the targeted group – age between 18-30 – is the most important. We do not distinguish among people in general neither do we rank young people. They are all considered to be a potential candidate. – “Giving chance to all young applicants” is one of our key slogans.
We search for them at local schools, universities and colleges via online mailing systems, career centers and direct printed advertisements. We filter our database, spread newsletters to thousands of young people and we use our social network, Facebook, too as a tool of information exchange and recruitment.
Your requirements towards a volunteer are the core elements of our selection policy.
Therefore, it is important for us to have as much information as possible about the project itself and about the ideal candidate’s personal skills and competences.
We always meet candidates face-to-face, in addition we “coach” them by putting them into situations they will likely face abroad.
Furthermore we search for those, who we believe would fit into a foreign environment and who has got at least a good basic level of foreign language knowledge. Those who are committed enough to develop their language skills will be given chance prior to the departure by meeting us on a regular basis. Last but not least, we try to give guidance to young people to discover their potential goals as regards EVS participation.
As for your concern about the selection we provide you an option to talk with the shortlisted candidates via phone or Skype prior to the decision.
EVS applications are managed from all parties involved – SO, HO, CO. EU-FA Foundation is ready to manage the administration required whenever it comes to cooperation.
